SmartBoats Remote DockCheck offers two systems, Marina Based and Satellite. The system which is best for you depends on the location of your boat and your monitoring requirements. Because of the higher cost of data transfer over satellites, monitoring fees for the marina system are less expensive than fees for satellite monitoring. SmartBoats employs proprietary data compression which provides maximum data transfer at the lowest possible rates.

While the rates are higher, the satellite system provides a level of freedom and additional monitoring that makes it worthwhile for certain applications.

Marina System

The marina system uses a wireless modem to connect signals from the boat to the marina, and an Internet Service Provider (ISP) to connect to the Company's servers. The marina system operates when the boat is in any SmartBoats-equipped marina. It will not operate outside the marina.

BASIC PACKAGE
Every system comes with the capability of monitoring the following events and conditions:

Shore Power
Monitors for connection to shore power. Notifies of any change or a disconnection.

Bilge Pump
Reports bilge pump operation and tracks trends. Monitors bilge pump "on" time and performs analysis to determine if bilge pump is operating consistently. If DockCheck detects a change in run time, the system sends an alert so preventive maintenance can be performed or leak condition investigated before damage occurs.

High Water Alarm
If the bilge pump should malfunction or become overwhelmed by a serious leak, system sends emergency alarm condition to owner and owner’s notification list. This saves precious time and saves boats!

Boat Absent from Slip
If boat is absent from slip, alarm notification is sent to owner

Temperature inside boat
Temperature is monitored and system can be set to send alert at user-defined temperature

Boat Alarm System – Intrusion Alarm
Intelligent theft protection for your boat. If someone should enter your boat, an alarm will be sent to marina personnel and to you. Audible and visual alarms can also be installed on boat to further deter theft.

Battery Charger
Monitors your battery charger for correct operation. Sends alerts based on user-defined parameters

Turn systems on or off over from your computer.
Bi-directional communication. SmartBoats Remote DockCheck can provide you a direct connection to any system on your boat you want to control, over the Internet. Turn on a blower, turn on/off refrigeration, power, etc.

Whatever You Want to Monitor – Ultimate Flexibility
Our smart sensors employ our unique, patented technology, which allows us to monitor almost anything. If you can measure it, we can remotely monitor it over the Internet. This includes engine use, temperature, location of vessel, fire, vapor, etc.

Satellite System

The satellite system offers the same features as the Marina System with the added benefit of operating at sea, anywhere in the world. This system does not rely on a marina to link with SmartBoats' servers. The Satellite System is ideal for boats on moorings, heavy cruisers, larger yachts and charter services. The product allows for information to be sent from a boat to the end-user while the boat is under sail. Systems and boat location are monitored and messages sent from boat to land. Subscribers will also have the opportunity to receive messages on the boat by interfacing with a laptop computer.

This allows an owner to track his boat anywhere in the world and monitor engine use, location, distress signals, etc. A sailor in trouble can send a distress signal with exact location to his base marina, family, or the appropriate authorities. Because the system is easily configured by the end user, the recipient list for messages can be altered based on the nature of the trip being taken or other circumstances.

Full-time global positioning facilitates recovery of a stolen boat, and allows owners of expensive yachts to know where their boats are, and what their captains are doing. Chartered boats can be tracked by owners and monitored for compliance with acceptable operation.

It’s one thing to use GPS when you are on the boat, but SmartBoats allows a boat’s position to be tracked from anywhere.
